Commitment to the land
“Our commitment is not a marketing page: it is the sum of the choices we make every day on the Tavoliere.”
We have been working in the Tavoliere of Puglia for more than half a century. The name Pineta (pine grove) tells where we come from: a family story born among the trees and fields of Cerignola, which we still preserve today.
The pine grove that gives the company its name is a small green lung kept over the years as a natural barrier against wind and erosion, home to local fauna that lives alongside agricultural activity. We look after it as a family heritage: no unnecessary cuts, undergrowth cleaning and attention to fire risk in the hotter months.
Water is the most precious resource of the Tavoliere. We promote efficient irrigation techniques, where and when really needed, and work with durum wheat varieties selected to resist the typical water stress of our climate. Reducing consumption is not a slogan: it is a condition to keep farming here.
Finally, the land is people: the farmers with whom we build supply-chain contracts, the network of contractors, Coop Palma D'Oro for the tomato harvest, local schools and associations. Growing together with Cerignola is part of our work, not a side activity.
